Many
trading posts serve as a 'safe deposit vault'
for the Indians. Some will bring in several thousand
dollars of jewelry and pawn it for just a few
dollars to keep it safe. Very little pawned jewelry
isn't claimed. Most will renew the "loan" just
to keep the family treasures secure in the Pawn
Vault. At right is a view of our collection of
a few pieces that have been sold to the trading
posts when the Indians hit hard times and needed
the money. We feature handcrafted Sterling Silver
jewelry with stones from local turquoise mines
as well as coral, lapis lazuli, malachite, opal,
and others.
